Prepare your ears boys and girls, because it's time for everyone's favorite part of the week! Ok, well maybe it's just my favorite part of the week. I mean, you are probably about as excited as the girl on the right above. Either way, I yet again have some great music that I'm really excited to share! So sit back, turn your speakers loud, and tune in to Bangers of the Week 23!
Be careful watching the video for this first one; it has all the feels in it. About life, family, heartbreak, growing old, staying grounded, it's a simple yet compelling music video. And that idea goes perfectly with the actual song, "Eleventh April" by Russian producer Artem Dultsev. It's a relatively simple and minimalistic trance track, but comes together as a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Really beautiful tune!
Completely switching gears comes this new single off the Monstercat label from Aero Chord. "Surface" can best described as an ethereal, ambient trap & bass anthem. I'm not entirely sure I know what I just wrote there. It definitely uses a lot of trap and hip-hop percussive elements, but when combined with the almost ominous minors from the synths and strings used, results in a paradoxically relaxing and stressful track that is really worth a second listen.
I'm reigning things in here in this last section. I've been all over the place with it, but that's just the nature of broadly calling this portion "Something Different". I don't know if I've actually featured any Dash music here since I first started, but this remix of "Man on the Run" was too interesting not to share. This bass-heavy dub mix by Houston based Oscillator Z is definitely different. Despite the in-your-face bass, it retains the melodic nature of the original, including the wonderful vocals.
Hopefully you still aren't yawning after listening to these (girl, I'm still looking at you!) Thank you all once again for stoppin by! While you are here, make sure to check out all 22 other Bangers of the Week selections. There is a whole lot of music just waiting for you to press play!
